Shahid Lieutenant Abu Moyen Mohammad Ashfaqus Samad Bir Uttam was a freedom fighter and martyr in Bangladesh’s Liberation War. He died on 20 November 1971, at only 23 years of age, mere months after dispatching the letter featured in this archive.
